This was a special match for me. The first match at Lords was a draw, even after us trying to put a fight with over 500 runs on the board in the 2nd innings. We lost the second match even though I took 10 wickets. So the 3rd match was the series breaker.
When I came to bowl in the 2nd Innings, England was 70 for no loss. I took the first 8 wickets for 70 runs including the openers which took the game away from England because I was determined to do my part in taking my country towards victory.
We managed to limit England only 190 runs and won the game by 134 runs.
Sri Lanka won that match and equaled the series because we were all determined as a team to make our country proud and committed to it 100% which is what I find lacking today; determination, dedication, commitment and discipline. The mindset of the players is not right at the moment.
